
Simon graduated from Cambridge University in 1986 and went into general practice becoming a partner in a small animal hospital in the North West where he developed a cardiology service. He achieved the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Cardiology in 1990 and in 2005 took up the post of Lecturer in Cardiology at Liverpool University Simon gained his European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Diploma in Cardiology in 2009 and joined Northwest Surgeons to lead in the development of cardiology services. He is the current chairman of the Veterinary Cardiovascular Society and has been the cardiology adviser to the UK Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club since 1992
